Get Your DOT Physicals Here!

I have done some research on the current industry that hauls our products all over the country to ensure we have what we want in the store we want it.

Semi Drivers are the vital part of our economy, allowing for each industry to get their product out to the customer.

Did you know that these drivers require extensive physical examinations to ensure they can continue to drive those 80,000 pound machines?

It is true, and it makes sense. You would want physically healthy people driving endless hours over the road, just because any accidents with these trucks are serious. Drivers should be alert, and not have any serious medical conditions that should impede their ability to drive over the road. So, I had to ask myself, what is the health status of the driving force of this industry?

As you know, I pride myself on doing research to help trend America into a healthier alignment. My research has fell a little alarming, to say the least.

The average CDL or commercial driver's license carrier is of the following:
  • 40+ years old
  • Male
  • Overweight
  • 2+ health conditions like
    • High cholesterol
    • High blood pressure
    • Pre-diabetic
    • Sleep Apnea
  • Depressed
  • Exhausted
  • And GETTING WORSE!!!
One of the medications that is non-discretionary to take away a person's ability to drive with a CDL is insulin. Type 2 Diabetes is on the rise in this country, and if a driver gets to this point of health, they will lose their license and ability to provide for the family. Don't let it go that far. Take your health seriously now.

You have heard about the New-Start Solution, and how I utilize it to treat a condition that most Americans are falling under,

The Progressive Decline Disorder.

This condition has effectively changed the way I look at health, health care, and the prognosis of my patients. I can clearly line out any patient's health on a scale of 0-100.

So you might be wondering where the average truck driver falls?

Unfortunately, on average, they fall at around 55-60% of health. As you can see on the chart below, it makes sense. Overweight, pre-diabetic, and getting worse.
Health Percentage Decline
The Progressive Decline Disorder
I am not just writing the to say that our drivers are a danger to society, because the majority haven't gotten to a level of decline that is debilitating. The only factor is, how much worse will it get?

I have recently went through the credentialing program to become certified to do the DOT physical examination for these drivers. The main intent is to ensure the safety of drivers on the road.

When I perform a physical exam, I will do all of the required tests to satisfy the FMCSA, but I go beyond the gold standard. I want to make sure each driver knows their risk of developing a career ending condition.

As you can already see, in America, the trend is going to an epidemic of Type 2 Diabetes, and with a sedentary career like driving a truck, it is clear that our drivers are at the front of the lines in this trend.

I am going to work hard to prevent this progression in everyone I see for physical examinations. Make sure you keep your career, and stop the progression of Diabetes.

If you know a truck driver, semi, dump truck, wrecker, bus driver, etc, and you know they are struggling with weight, cholesterol, or other health conditions, forward them this email or make sure they call me. Whether they are in need of a physical now, or just want to be proactive for their next physical, it is important to start today and ensure better health for tomorrow.
